ABOUT US
WHO/TDR Clinical Data Management Network (CDMTDR) was established in 2002 with the initiative of Professor Dr.Juntra Karbwang, clinical coordinator, UNICEF-UNDP-World Bank-WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR). The 'Brainstorming Meeting on Clinical Data Management' was held at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University, Thailand during 25-26 November 2002 with the objective to discuss on the role and importance of clinical data management as an integral part of GCP clinical trials, as well as to explore the infra-structures of the candidate clinical data management centres and to plan for the activities of the network in the year 2003. Since its establishment, a series of training courses, meetings and workshops have been conducted continuously.
At present, the network consists of six Clinical Data Management Centres from Asia (China, India, Japan and Thailand), Africa (Ethiopia) and South America (Colombia). Thammasat University Clinical Data Management Centre (TU-CDMC) was appointed as the focal point of the CDMTDR Network. For each centre, key personnel include the clinical and/or general data manager, statistician, information technology manager, and data entry operators.
